George Entertains At Como – And Pizza!
George entertains in his Como Villa again. The bit that caught my eye was the Pizza oven.
FIrstly..Why? Como has some of the very best restaurants you can find anywhere in Italy?
Secondly. Erm, I fancy a pizza now.
Here’s the story from entertainment weekly
It’s a fantasy of countless women: Waking up in George Clooney’s Italian villa on Lake Como.
But for The Help star Viola Davis, that dream was a reality. Only minus George, that is.
"I begged him to let me stay at his villa in Lake Como for my honeymoon," Davis, 46 – who married Julius Tennon in 2003 – tells Entertainment Weekly of her good friend and likely fellow Oscar contender.
"I wasn’t there," adds the actor, 50. "That was her request!"
But Davis and her new husband didn’t seem to miss him.
"We were the only ones in the villa," she says. "It’s a 22-room villa!" With plenty of luxurious extras to boot – when asked if she used Clooney’s pizza oven, Davis joked: "I didn’t make the pizza. His staff made the pizza.
And while he wasn’t physically present, Clooney was only too happy to play host.
"I had just bought the place and she was getting married, which I tried to talk her out of," he tells the magazine with a laugh. "But that didn’t work out."

Villa Lucia Hosts “Bond Theme” Wedding
September 10th 2011 saw Villa Lucia host a Bond-tastic wedding celebration for two very special people and their 30 guests who had made the journey all the way from the rugged lands of Scotland.
Daniel Craig and Sean Connery were unfortunately otherwise engaged that very warm and sunny day, however it truly was a Thunderball of a day…….
The setting for Casino Royale and many other Hollywood blockbusters, Lake Como is the glamour hub of Italy.
Paul and Gemma first discovered Villa Lucia over 12 months ago and saw immediately just how perfect a setting it would be for their very intimate and personal wedding they had planned.
When the sun rose over the mountains on Saturday 10th September, Villa Lucia was already buzzing with excitement. Gemma and her attendants were in the throes of hair and makeup…… the men of the party, well they were sleeping off the night before!
When the groom and his attendants appeared a little later on, even James Bond would have struggled to look as suave and sophisticated. Tartan kilts and silk cravats wafted into Lucia Hall where the photographer immediately took the opportunity to capture the moment.
All guests were welcomed through the beautiful ornate gates of the estate and into the gardens that brimming with flowers and excitement.
The harpist played as the bride and her father appeared at the top of the staircase and glided slowly down to the waiting groom.
And then a surprise for the guests……. the sound of bagpipes and a Scottish piper appeared!
Walking down along the lakeside, the couple hopped into their very own Bond speedboat, whilst the guests took a much slower paced boat and were shown the sights of Lake Como.
When the party arrived back at Lucia, the sun had set and it was a light only by candlelight. The cake was cut and the first dance struck up to what could only be one perfect song…… “nobody does it better”.
I couldn’t have said it better myself.
This album is just a sneaky peek at the photos we managed to take during the day. Enjoy…..
Como Wins Telegraph Award… Again!
Given how high profile Lake Como has become particularly for Hollywood celebrities, it almost seems a little unfair to reference the daily Telegraph’s recent travel awards.
Would it come as any surprise to note that Italy was the favourite European destination voted for by Telegraph readers, and that Lake Como was specifically cited as the favourite destination.
The prestigious Daily Telegraph awards are a result of readership voting, and a very good sample size of 23,000 readers took part in the survey.
With figures like this, it’s a sound bet that Lake Como is a very popular and beautiful tourist destination.
Why are we telling you this?
Well, it’s come to my attention that some of you may not have yet visited this stunning area of northern Italy. I could be trite and ask why not? But I wouldn’t do that.
What I will do is give you the link (click the picture above) and you can read yourself the description of this beautiful area and browse the full results of this newspaper’s holiday destination of the year award.
Rally Di Como 2011.
Como has a reputation for being a quiet and peaceful venue. It’s beautiful scenery and fresh air are a tonic for those looking for a break from the busy hurly-burly of city life.
But now and again, there is little bit more to see that the stunning backdrop of the Alps and the beautiful lake itself.
The Rally Di Como has just taken place. Don’t worry it’s perfectly safe.
I imagine it’s a fantastic venue for such an event, but I doubt the drivers themselves a great deal of time to take in the scenery.
Ides of March Cast Let Loose on Como
I really don’t know what to say about this.
What George gets up to with his fellow stars at his stunning Lake Como Villa is of course up to him.
There is a clip of this conversation at Access Hollywood gives you an idea of what went in.
I’ll say no more. But we’ll give you the trailer of the film.
Perhaps it’s a case of “What Happens at Como – Stays at Como”
Kourtney Kardashian May Marry at Como?
Ok, this isn’t proof, but it shows how pumped these celebs are by the idea of planning their wedding in the stunning surroundings of Lake Como.
And who can blame them.
Anyway – here’s the clip.
